In order get input from national experts in
various fields of Biotechnology, a two days workshop on 14th
-15th September 1995, was convened at Bhopal. this workshop was
inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Apart
from other experts in the field Dr. (Ms.) Manju Sharma, Advisor,
Dep. of Biotechnology also participated in the workshop. The
Hon'ble Chief Minister discussed various issues of proposed
Biotechnology Application Centre (BAC) with Dr. (Ms.) Manju
Sharma, Dr. Krishna Tiwari of International Centre of Genetic
Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). Representatives from FIS,
viz ICICI, IDBI, NABARD and representatives from industries etc.
The Hon'ble Chief Minister endorsed the establishment of BAC and
assured of State Government's support wherever necessary. The
two days workshop unanimously approved the establishment of BAC
under MAPCOST. |
