Science Awads: Innovative Science Teacher Award

Innovative Science teacher award is one of the scheme sponsored by M. P. Council of Science & Technology, Bhopal since 1988. This scheme is operated by State Institute of Science Education, Jabalpur under the financial assistance of M. P. Council of Science & Technology, Bhopal. Every year three best innovative science teacher of Madhya pradesh are selected & awarded.

Innovation is well thought & well planned invention, which has specific aim to fulfil the immediate & felt needs of society. Innovation in Science Education aims at bringing awareness towards science education among the teachers.

The scheme has following objectives:

• To motivate Science teachers of the M. P. for popularization of Science education.

• To honour, the educational & scientific achievements of the science teachers.

• To evaluate the innovative activities, latest research work & experimental information's of science teachers.

• To collect the relevant information/knowledge about creative research & improved methods of science teaching develop by the science teacher.

Selection Procedure:

Applications from science teachers of all the High & Higher Secondary schools of Govt and Non- Govt. are invited, by State Institute of Science Education, Jabalpur in prescribed format.

The applications are put up before the screening committee consists of specialist of different science subjects of State Institute of Science Education, Jabalpur. Only meritorious, highly innovative, excellent teachers are selected and called for giving model lesson on their subject & for personal interview before the final selection committee on the date & time prescribed by the committee. On basis of preliminary screening, teaching & personal interview the best three teachers are selected on the recommendation of final selection committee. These three innovative science teachers are awarded Rs.5,00/- each & certificate by the Council every year.
