Science & Technology Inputs
for Women
The scheme has been initiated since 1984 to concentrate on the
women's issues specially to make efforts for solving their problems
and improving socio - economic quality of their life with the
application of Science & Technology Inputs.
The main objectives of the schemes are as follows :-
1. To create opportunity of self employment with the help of S&T

2. To eliminate drudgery from their life and inculcate scientific
temper and generating general awareness.
3. To provide them better health, nutrition, hygiene and environment
facility.
4. To protect them from occupational and domestic hazards.
5. To promote women scientists.
For achieving these objectives, the projects and programmes are
formulated with the help of a Task Force created to make
recommendations. This Task Force is comprised of representatives of
various Government and Non Government organizations academic and R&D
institutions and social workers as a member. The Task Force is
chaired by a renowned specialist of the field. Council has also
established a "Women Cell" to co-ordinate with the Government, Non
Government bodies and academic and R&D institutions to formulate and
identify various areas of work. .
